But things get even more interesting when the cheek retractor goes in, giving us a full view while the nurse takes impressions. Then, the hygienist takes over—examining every inch of her mouth with a deep mirror inspection, pushing it all the way to the back to reveal everything. Each tooth gets special attention as it’s probed and checked before the saliva ejector slides in, and the ultrasonic scaler starts buzzing. Ava may be a little nervous, but she opens nice and wide for this one.
